The Philips 2200 Series EP2224/40 in Grey is a bean-to-cup machine with a built-in ceramic grinder and a classic milk frother. It is operated through the SensorTouch interface. The appliance is supplied with a UK 3-pin plug (BS 1363). Brewing coffee The ceramic grinder offers 12 grind settings and is designed to last for up to 20,000 cups. The Aroma Extract System keeps the water temperature between 90 °C and 98 °C and controls the water flow rate. With the "My Coffee Choice" function, you can set the aroma strength and the quantity across three levels. An aroma seal lid protects the beans and keeps them fresh for longer. Frothing milk The classic milk frother releases steam to create milk foam. It consists of two parts that are easy to clean. Cleaning and maintenance The brew group can be removed completely and rinsed under running water. The milk system and the coffee grounds container are dishwasher safe. The automatic descaling programme notifies you when descaling is due. The frequency can be adjusted to your water hardness. With the AquaClean filter, descaling is not required for up to 5,000 cups. This figure is based on replacing the filter 8 times. The actual number depends on the beverages selected as well as on cleaning and rinsing cycles.
