3. Server log files
When you open our website, our server automatically processes technical data that your browser transmits. This typically includes your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and technical information about your browser and device.
We process this data to deliver the website to you, to keep it stable and secure and to detect and investigate misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interests in the secure and reliable operation of the shop (Article 6(1)(f)). We have not set a fixed deletion period for this data. We keep it only as long as it is needed for these purposes.
4. Strictly necessary cookies and browser storage
Our shop stores a small amount of information in your browser that is needed to provide the service you request. Under regulation 6(4) PECR, such strictly necessary storage does not require your consent. We process the related data on the basis of our legitimate interests in running the shop (Article 6(1)(f)).

4.2 Cookie banner
The shop shows a cookie banner so that you can make and review your cookie choice. Your choice is saved in your browser under shop.cookieConsent. The processing of visitor data described in section 5 does not depend on this choice. You can delete cookies and stored data at any time in your browser settings. If you delete customer.sid, you will be signed out and your basket and checkout progress may be lost.
5. Visitor analysis and device fingerprinting
We run our own visitor analysis on this website. It is active for all visitors and it does not depend on your cookie choice. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising services for this purpose.
5.1 Purposes
- Visit statistics
- Security and fraud prevention
- Detection of automated access (bots)
5.2 Data collected
- Your IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country, region and city)
- The pages you view and the page you came from (referrer)
- Your browser, operating system, device type, language setting and screen characteristics
- A device fingerprint (including canvas, WebGL and installed fonts) used as a recognition value
- The link between this data and your shop session or, if you are signed in, your customer account
5.3 Storage in your browser
The visitor analysis sets no cookies of its own. It uses the existing session cookie customer.sid, which is described in section 4.
5.4 Legal basis, retention and your right to object
We carry out this processing on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in understanding how the shop is used, protecting the shop and our customers against fraud and misuse, and detecting bots. Because the device fingerprint can identify a browser again on later visits, we treat it as personal data. You have the right to object to this processing at any time, as explained in section 11. We have not set a fixed deletion period for this data. We keep it only as long as necessary for the purposes above.
6. Customer account, guest orders and communication
6.1 Customer account and guest checkout
You can order with a customer account or as a guest without registering. If you register, we store your account details and your order history so that you can manage orders in the customer portal. Guests can follow an order by entering their email address in the order lookup. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
6.2 Contact form, email and telephone
If you contact us through the contact form, by email or by telephone, we use the details you give us to answer your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) where your request relates to an order or a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interests in handling enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
6.3 Chat in the customer portal
Signed-in customers can use a chat in the customer portal. Some answers in this chat are generated by artificial intelligence. Please do not enter more personal data than is needed for your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) for requests about your orders and account, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f).
6.4 Newsletter
You can subscribe to our newsletter on the home page. We then use your email address to send you the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and regulation 22 PECR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by writing to support@enertechy.com. A newsletter opt-in is not part of the checkout.
6.5 Product reviews
Reviews are shown on product pages. If you submit a review, the content you provide is displayed there. The legal basis is our legitimate interests in providing helpful product information to other customers (Article 6(1)(f)).
7. Order processing
To process your order we use the data you enter at checkout: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, the products ordered and the order amount. We use this data to confirm your order, deliver the goods, handle payment, deal with returns and answer questions about your order. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
Providing the data that is needed for your order, your customer account and your payment is required to enter into the contract. Without this data we cannot conclude the contract or deliver your order. Other information, for example for the newsletter or for product reviews, is provided voluntarily.
We must keep order, invoice and payment records for accounting and tax purposes. The legal basis for this is a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). Under UK law these records are generally kept for six years.
8. Payment service provider
We offer payment by credit card. To process a card payment, we pass the data needed for the payment to a payment service provider, which processes it to carry out the transaction and to prevent payment fraud. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). The payment service provider handles your payment data under its own data protection obligations. Further details on payment are on our Payment Methods page.
9. Delivery service providers
We deliver tracked parcels within the United Kingdom. To deliver your order, we share your name, delivery address and, where needed for delivery or shipment tracking, your contact details with the carrier. The carrier may use this data to give you delivery status information and a tracking link. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Details of delivery options and times are on our Delivery page.
10. Recipients, transfers and retention
10.1 Recipients
We share personal data only where this is needed for the purposes in this policy. Recipients can be the payment service provider, the delivery carrier, IT service providers that host and maintain the shop, and professional advisers or authorities where we are legally required to disclose data. Service providers act on our instructions or as independent controllers under their own legal duties. We do not sell your personal data.
10.2 Transfers outside the United Kingdom
If a recipient processes personal data outside the United Kingdom, we make sure that the transfer is permitted under Chapter V of the UK GDPR, for example because the country is covered by UK adequacy regulations or because appropriate safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum are in place.
10.3 Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Order and accounting records are kept for the period required by law. Customer account data is kept while your account exists. For log files and visitor analysis data we have not set a fixed deletion period, and we keep them only as long as needed for the purposes in sections 3 and 5.
11. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the following rights:
- Right of access: you can ask for a copy of your personal data and information about how we use it.
- Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data where the legal conditions are met.
- Right to restriction: you can ask us to limit the use of your data in certain cases.
- Right to data portability: where we process your data by automated means on the basis of consent or a contract, you can ask to receive it in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- Right to object: you can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests, including the visitor analysis and device fingerprinting in section 5. We will then stop the processing unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds or the processing is needed for legal claims.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on your consent, such as the newsletter, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
- Rights relating to automated decisions: you have rights in relation to decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
To use your rights, write to support@enertechy.com or to Tech Outlet LTD, Unit B, 260 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 7RF. We usually reply within one month and do not charge a fee in the normal case. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
12. Complaints and changes to this policy
If you believe that we have not handled your personal data lawfully, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve the matter. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk.
You can submit a complaint to us electronically by email to support@enertechy.com or in writing to Tech Outlet LTD, Unit B, 260 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 7RF. Under sections 164A and 164B of the Data Protection Act 2018, as inserted by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, a controller must acknowledge a complaint within 30 days of receiving it, investigate it without undue delay and inform the complainant of the outcome.
