Enertechy
Cookie Policy
This policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage functions the Enertechy online shop uses, why we use them and on what legal basis. It applies to visits to enertechy.com. For full details on how we handle personal data, please read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for the storage functions described here is:
Tech Outlet LTD (trading as Enertechy)
Unit B, 260 Tottenham Court Road
London W1T 7RF
England, United Kingdom
Company number: 13298342 (registered with Companies House, England and Wales)
Email: support@enertechy.com
Telephone: +4420457731972. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar functions, such as local storage and session storage in your browser, keep small pieces of information on your device so that a website can work properly. In this policy we call all of these "storage functions".
We do not create further cookie categories beyond those described below. The sections that follow separate storage that is strictly necessary from our own visitor analysis, and explain the legal basis for each.
3. Strictly necessary storage
These storage functions are needed to provide the service you request, for example keeping your basket, your login or your checkout process working. They do not depend on your cookie choice.
3.1 Overview of storage functions
customer.sid

shop.cookieConsent

Remembers your choice in the cookie banner.

Remembers your chosen display mode of the shop.
kasse:confirmation
Type: session storage
Holds the order confirmation state in the checkout for the duration of your visit.
shop.accountDeleted
Type: session storage
Holds a short-lived redirect state for the duration of your visit.
maintenance-reload-at
Type: session storage
Holds a short-lived redirect and reload state for the duration of your visit.
3.2 Legal basis
Under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), consent is not required for storage or access that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested. This is why these functions are set without asking for your consent.
Where this storage involves personal data, we process it under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR where it is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before a contract, and otherwise under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating a secure and working online shop.
4. Our own visitor analysis and device fingerprinting
We operate our own visitor analysis. It is active and it runs independently of your cookie choice. This means that declining or accepting in the cookie banner does not switch it on or off.
4.1 Purposes
- Visit statistics
- Security and fraud prevention
- Detection of automated access (bots)
4.2 Data collected
- IP address and an approximate location derived from it (country, region, city)
- Pages viewed and the referring page (referrer)
- Browser, operating system, device type, language setting and screen characteristics
- A device fingerprint (including canvas, WebGL and installed fonts) used as a recognition value
- Assignment to your shop session or customer account
4.3 Storage in your browser
The visitor analysis sets no cookies of its own. It uses the existing session cookie customer.sid described above.
4.4 Legal basis and your rights
Because this analysis does not depend on your cookie choice, we do not rely on your consent for it. We process the data under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR, based on our legitimate interests in understanding how the shop is used, protecting the shop and our customers against fraud and misuse, and detecting automated access.
Accessing information on your device for this analysis is also subject to regulation 6 of PECR. We do not use consent for it, but rely on the exceptions in PECR instead: the exception for access that is strictly necessary, and, for visit statistics, the exception in Schedule A1 to PECR, which applies to website statistics where clear information is provided and you have a simple, free way to opt out. This section is that information.
You can object to the visitor analysis at any time, simply and free of charge, by contacting us using the details in section 1. You also have the right to object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 of the UK GDPR). You also have the other rights described in our Privacy Policy, including access, rectification and erasure.
We have not set a fixed deletion period for this data, so we do not state one here. Further information on retention and recipients is given in our Privacy Policy.
5. Optional storage and the cookie banner
The shop displays a cookie banner. Your choice in the banner is saved in your browser under the local storage key shop.cookieConsent so that we do not ask you again on every page.
At present, no storage or processing described in this policy depends on your cookie choice. Should we introduce optional storage in future, we will describe it here, we will ask for your consent first, and consent will be its legal basis, as required by regulation 6 of PECR and Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. You would then be able to withdraw your consent at any time.
Necessary storage (section 3) and our own visitor analysis (section 4) are each described with their own legal basis and are not covered by a consent.
6. Managing storage in your browser
You can delete cookies and stored site data at any time in your browser settings, and you can set your browser to block cookies. If you block or delete the session cookie customer.sid, core functions such as your basket, login and checkout may not work.
Deleting stored site data does not stop our own visitor analysis, which is described in section 4.
7. More information, questions and complaints
Please read our Privacy Policy for full information on how we process personal data, who receives it and how you can exercise your rights.
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, email us at support@enertechy.com or call +442045773197.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at https://ico.org.uk.
